Σε ένα χωριό της ελληνικής επαρχίας, ο Τάκης ετοιμάζει τα εγκαίνια του νέου του κρεοπωλείου. Μια μέρα πριν τα εγκαίνια, ο γιος του, Παύλος σκοτώνει τον γείτονα που διεκδικεί μέρος της γης τους. Μοναδικός μάρτυρας ο Χρήστος, ένας νεαρός από την Αλβανία, τον οποίο ο Τάκης έχει μαζί του από μικρό παιδί.
